Ivan Tan is a Senior Consultant of the Corporate Department of Yusarn Audrey LLC. He now co-leads the firm’s capital markets practice with the firm’s Co Founding Director Chiew Yu Sarn and supports family offices, VCCs, PE and venture firms in Singapore and Asia.

Ivan is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and he is also entered into the rolls as a Solicitor, England and Wales as well as Hong Kong. Ivan practised law since 1998. He started as a Singapore construction litigation lawyer before successfully transitioning to corporate law when he joined Yusarn Audrey & Partners (as it was then) in 1999. Thereafter, he left to pursue his IPO and capital market practice before leaving Singapore for Hong Kong to join an international firm in 2006. Over the years, Ivan has advised on an extensive range of corporate and capital market transactions including merger and acquisitions, takeovers, PE, VC and pre-IPO fundraisings, IPOs as well as post-listing fundraising and compliance matters. To date, he has successfully helped many Asian and Chinese companies’ public list in Singapore, London and Hong Kong. He has advised on close to 30 successful public listings (including cash shell/SPAC listings) in Singapore (both Mainboard and Catalist), on the London Stock Exchange (both AiM and the Main Market) as well as UK’s NEX market (formerly known as ISDX and PLUS), and in Hong Kong (both Main Board and Catalist).

Ivan has also advised on a private placement of asset-back cryptocurrency tokens to investors which started off as an initial coin offering in Hong Kong. He was instrumental in assisting a Singapore-based fund in opening the Hong Kong market for its multiple tranche convertible notes investment structure which had been utilised previously across ASEAN in various forms.

Ivan had also advised a Chinese state-owned enterprise (SOE) on its proposed debt equity market fundraising as well as offshore acquisition planning and recently he is working with the management of another SOE on satisfying its offshore fundraising needs. Given his 16 years working in Hong Kong and Shanghai between 2006 and 2022, Ivan has and is still growing the pool of Chinese high net-worth individuals, families, and funds he knows and works with. Ivan was ranked by Chambers Asia Pacific as an “Up and Coming Individual” for Capital Markets: Equity – China (International Firms) by Chambers Asia Pacific 2012 and 2013.
