Tony is a Patent Attorney in the Intellectual Property Department. Tony is a registered patent attorney in both Singapore and China.

Tony graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Sciences (First-Class Honors) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a major in Biomedical Sciences, and was a recipient of Singapore Government Undergraduate Scholarship for International Students. He later obtained a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law (GCIP) with Merit from NUS Law School and Singapore IP Academy, a Master Degree in Intellectual Property Management and a PhD in Technology Intelligence and IP Strategy from NUS Division of Engineering and Technology Management. He was awarded the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys (ASPA) Book Prize for attaining the highest score in Paper A (Drafting of a Patent Specification) in the Singapore Patent Agents Qualifying Examination held in 2016.

Prior to joining Yusarn Audrey, Tony was with a boutique patent practice dealing with patent work which include patent drafting, prosecution and registration. He later started his Ph.D. study at NUS on a postgraduate research scholarship specializing in Technology Intelligence and IP Strategy, and has acquired extensive experiences in patent search, patent landscape analysis and patent portfolio management, covering a range of technical areas such as wind turbine, LED, stem cell and cloud computing. Tony has a keen interest in intellectual property-related research – he has co-authored several publications (biomedical sciences & patent management) in international journals, an academic book on patent portfolio deployment, and presented on patent management and strategy at academic conferences in Singapore, Taiwan, Canada and the US.
